In 1977, the company's name was changed to Scot Forge, a name that reflected the Scottish cultural roots of the owner at the time, Pete “Spike” Georgeson. A Scottish highlander became part of the corporate logo along with the plaid tartan design. The wearing of tartan jackets, ties, skirts and dresses by employees shows our plaid pride. Today, Scot Forge employee-owners are easily spotted in a crowd with their bright tartan plaids.
Scot Forge is a 100 percent Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) company, which means the company belongs to the employees. Since everyone is an owner, each employee takes pride in the company’s performance and shares in its successes. This unique culture fosters an environment where new and creative ideas to improve areas of performance are encouraged by every employee, benefiting both the customer and the company.
Scot Forge values the loyalty and dedication of its employees. To recognize and reward their commitment and contribution, employees are honored for their length of service at an annual Service Awards Dinner. Additionally, in honor of the ESOP founder, Pete “Spike” Georgeson, the “Spike” Award recognizes fellow employees who have gone above and beyond the call of duty for the past year, as recognized by their peers.

Year after year, Scot Forge is recognized by OSHA and the Forging Industry Association for our outstanding safety performance because each year we purposefully strive to be safer and better than we have ever been before. In 2019, we were recognized by EHS Today Magazine as one of America's Safest Companies.
