What is Scot Forge’s largest hydraulic open die press capacity?

Scot Forge operates hydraulic open die presses up to 21,000 tons with forging capacity up to 440,000 lbs.

What is your maximum ring rolled outside diameter?

Ring rolling capacity is up to 252" O.D. with up to a 49" face and ring weights up to 65,000 lbs.

Do you have a ring expander for sizing and stress relieving?

Yes. Scot Forge has a 4,200 ton ring expander for rings from 42" ID to 250" ID x 42" tall, used for mechanical stress relieving and sizing.

How many forge furnaces do you have and what is the maximum furnace weight capacity?

Scot Forge has 55 forge furnaces with max weight capacity up to 1,000,000 lbs.

Do you provide in-house NDE and inspection?

Yes. Capabilities include wet fluorescent magnetic particle inspection, liquid penetrant inspection, ultrasonic testing, XRF analyzers, full shear wave capability, and in-house ASNT and ACCP certified Level III personnel.

What are your largest CNC turning capabilities?

CNC lathes support up to 105" diameter by 551" length. Boring capability is up to 68" I.D. by 380" long.

What are your largest vertical turning capabilities?

CNC vertical turret lathes have capacity up to 315" O.D. by 265" length with live tooling capability up to 315" diameter and 500,000 lbs table capacity.

Do you offer deep-hole drilling and boring?

Yes. Deep-hole drilling and boring supports holes from 1" to 12.375" diameter with lengths up to 504" and max part O.D. of 55".

What are your largest saw cutting capabilities?

Band saws cut up to 63" square. Carbide cutoff saws cut up to 24" square. A CNC dual head gantry saw cuts up to 44" square with a 90° cutting option.

What are your thermal treatment and quench capabilities?

Scot Forge operates multiple quench tanks including 50,000 gallon water and 56,000 gallon polymer tanks for bars and hollows to 30 feet, plus additional polymer and water quench systems for rings and large shapes.
