Nadcap Accredited, ISO 9001 Certified Forging Company

At Scot Forge, every employee-owner is dedicated to achieving the goal of Total Customer Satisfaction by safely supplying the highest-quality forgings and services possible.

The unique employee-ownership culture has allowed our company to integrate every employee-owner into our quality improvement activities. Hundreds of individual employee-owners have participated in our quality audit teams.

“Even after a few years of integrating employee-owners from all departments within our company, I am still so impressed with our internal audit teams. While these teams obviously include very effective quality professionals, it is the preparation, care, seriousness and depth exhibited by our qualified internal auditors who come from all departments that can only be possible in an employee-owned company. Their audit findings are meaningful, exhibit depth in the audit and are an important component of continually improving our company.”

Commitment to quality

Based on an 8D problem-solving model, Scot Forge’s corrective action system has given over a hundred employee-owners the opportunity to lead corrective action request teams. The company’s regularly scheduled Layered Process Audits involve all levels of leadership and provide key input to the effectiveness and sustainability of the quality system. With full company involvement and ownership, a commitment to quality is evident throughout Scot Forge.

Quality and special process certifications

In July 1992, Scot Forge was the first North American open die forging company to be awarded certification to ISO 9001. Scot Forge has maintained certification since that time and is now certified to ISO 9001:2008 as well as AS9100C (EN 9100:2009, JISQ 9100:2009). Further pursuance of aerospace products has led to Nadcap accreditation in both Heat Treatment for aluminum material and Nondestructive Testing. Ringmasters and North American Forgemasters, both joint ventures of Scot Forge, are also certified to ISO 9001:2008. Other accreditations include ABS, DNV, Lloyd's Register and the European Pressure Equipment Directive (PED).
