Administrative/Professional Positions Available
Sr. Staff Accountant (1st Shift,
Mon-Fri 8am-5pm + OT as needed)
Four year degreed accountant needed to perform functions
to maintain company accounting records, proper cash flow
and provide various accounting services. Duties would
include: prepare monthly financial statements and accompanying
management reports, post, balance and reconcile various
general ledger and subsidiary accounts, manage cash balances,
execute wire transfers and maintain cash requirements,
file appropriate tax and business forms, prepare fixed
asset records, prepare routine report summarizing finance
activity, assist outside auditors at year end, participate
in accounting projects and general accounting duties as
required. Must have advanced knowledge of Excel, 4-year
Accounting Degree with 5-7 years of experience.

Part-Time HR Generalist - Franklin
Park, IL
Scot Forge Company, a 100% employee-owned forging company
in business for over 100 years is seeking an experienced
Human Resources Generalist who will be responsible for supervising
the personnel activities at our forging production plant
in Franklin Park, IL. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager
at the corporate facility in Spring Grove, IL and will have
daily interaction with the Franklin Park facility Plant
Manager.
The position will require 20 hours per week, Tuesday,
Thursday & Friday with one 12 hour Tuesday per month.
Possibility for future full-time position, may require
travel to corporate facility.
Experienced candidate must be able to manage labor relations,
performance evaluation process, compliance with State
and Federal employment laws, disciplinary action &
terminations, proficient in benefits administration, conduct
pre-employment process and new hire orientation, minimal
recruiting and other HR duties as necessary.
Qualifications
" HR Generalist experience with a minimum 2 years
experience in a manufacturing environment.
" Minimum 2-4 years experience in Benefit Administration

Scot forge is a high volume custom forging job shop looking
for a self-motivated, highly driven individual with strong
communication skills. The ability to work both alone and within
a team environment is essential.
Daily responsibilities would include but would not be limited
to: cost estimating, expediting, and some technical telephone
sales and service. Reviewing blueprints, specifications and
utilizing our computer system will be necessary to apply pricing
standards to estimate costs. In particular, the candidate
would determine material requirements, material availability
and manufacturing processes needed to complete quotes/orders.
The candidate would also work with production supervisors,
expediting and/or other departments to determine methods and
pricing for unusual or new orders. The candidate will be involved
in the decision making process to optimize profit and maximize
capacity utilization.
Skills, Experience, Education Requirement: Prior experience
in estimating of forgings or other heavy industry metal products
is a plus, education should be equivalent to Baccalaureate
Degree or accredited apprenticeship. Also, knowledge of working
with material specifications, steel processing, blueprint
reading and proficient with Microsoft Office a plus. Must
be comfortable working with customers and engineers both inside
and outside the company.

Technical Inside Sales Representative
(1st Shift, 45/50 hours a week + occasional Saturday 4 hour
phone rotation) 1 position available
The Sales Department is looking for an energetic individual
with strong selling and communication skills for managing
current and prospective customers. The ability to work both
alone and within a team environment is essential. This candidate
would be accountable for executing functions to promote customer
service and the sale of products.
Daily responsibilities would include but would not be limited
to: determine material requirements, material availability
and manufacturing processes needed to complete quote or order
by reviewing blueprints, specifications and by utilizing computer
system. You would apply pricing standards to determine costs.
Work in conjunction with the Blacksmith, Quality Control,
Metallurgy and Purchasing to determine methods and pricing
for unusual or new orders. Responsible for negotiation of
price, delivery and other items with the customer and/or the
outside sales representative. Follow up with customers to
gather information on inquiries prior to quoting and to determine
customer's status with quote. Work with outside sales representatives
to follow up on outstanding quotations, to develop forging
product applications and to build customer relationships.
Makes sales calls to current and potential customers to promote
products and assist with problem resolution. Assist in the
collection of delinquent accounts and research competitor's
capabilities, and recommend product or method changes to enhance
competitiveness.
Skills, Experience, Education Requirement: Prior experience
necessary. 5 years in sales of forgings (or other heavy industry
steel products), thorough knowledge of customer service and
technical knowledge of manufacturing. Education should be
equivalent to Baccalaureate Degree or accredited apprenticeship.

Process Technician; 1st Shift (45/50
hours a week + overtime as production dictates)

The Process Engineering Department is interested in a recent
graduate with a BS in Metallurgical Engineering, Metallurgy,
Materials Science (metals emphasis), Manufacturing Engineering,
or other relevant technical discipline and you could have
up to two years of relatable experience. We are a high volume
job shop looking for a technician with strong CAD skills and
blueprint interpretation. Duties include processing instructions
to direct material sequence throughout the forge plant. You
would need to be able to recognize when quoted items will
not meet the purchase order requirements and make the appropriate
changes. Work with sales staff to provide information on quoting
new orders. Investigate nonconformance reports, determine
root cause and recommend corrective action. Produce CAD drawings
as needed. Provide estimated forging and machining sizes,
determine plant for production and assign machining center.
Data enter customer order information and production processes
including production sequence, heat treat requirements, quality
test requirements and chemical restrictions.
The candidate must have strong CAD and computer skills. A
willingness to research questions and/or problems in order
to resolve issues and go to the appropriate people to find
a solution. The hours are a minimum of 45 a week and once
you have a better understanding of the process it would more
likely be 50-55 hours a week including some Saturdays. We
are a job shop and in order to meet customer demands we have
to keep the orders flowing to supply the production areas
with workflow. You would be responsible for having a complete
understanding of the routing sequence and schedule accordingly.
We want someone who will investigate alternative forging methods
to improve efficiency.

The Forge Shop has an immediate opening for a hard working
person to join their team. This is an entry-level position
and you would be responsible for supporting and assisting
the department in production. Job duties include shoveling
scale, grinding materials of defects, repair forging tools
with welder or grinder, general housekeeping, filling in
as a crew member when needed and working in conjunction
with the blacksmith and supervisor. Prior experience helpful
with the following: overhead cranes, welding and grinding.

Heat
Treat Operator ( 2nd Shift Mon - Fri 3pm - 11:00 pm and
Sat 11am - 5pm)

The Heat Treat Department has an open position for a hard
working, reliable person to join their group. Successful
candidate will perform duties to load, unload and monitor
furnace operations, quench material, determine material
hardness, and straighten material per specifications. Experience
needed with forklifts and overhead cranes. Willing to train
right applicant to use the following: bar hauler, brinell
scope, grinder, polisher, BHN tester, press and straight
edge.

Maintenance
Mechanic II (2nd Shift, Mon-Fri 2:00pm - 10:30pm + weekends/OT
as needed)

The Maintenance Department is interested in someone that can
repair a variety of equipment, such as furnaces, material
handling equipment and presses involving mechanical, hydraulic,
pneumatic and electrical functions and systems. Would need
to be able to perform repairs with fabrication welding and
torch operations. You would be responsible for performing
preventative maintenance activities, check equipment function
and operation and assist in the installation of equipment.

CNC Milling, CNC Lathe Machinist, Manual Lathe, Manual Vertical
Turret Lathe or CNC Vertical Turret Lathe (2nd Shift, Mon-Fri
3:30pm - 2am + weekends/OT as needed)

Must be able to perform duties to set
up, operate machines, and edit programs. Prior to loading
part, identify forgings and verify blueprint and dimensions.
Examine material visually for flaws and defects. Monitor first
piece run when using edited or new program to ensure safe
run conditions and quality specifications. Use mathematics
together with the analytical use of complicated blueprints.
Previous knowledge of machining operations is required. Need
to be able to select, load and backplot existing programs
to ensure safe and productive machining - edit if necessary.
You would be responsible for your own set-ups, install tools
and fixtures. Be able to load material into machine with overhead
crane using the proper lifting techniques. You should have
experience with the following equipment: tape measures, cranes,
calipers, diameter tapes, micrometers, PC (computers) and
common hand tools. We would like individuals to work in cooperation
with all fellow employee owners to sustain a strong team atmosphere.

Final/NDT Inspector (Shift to be
determined, must be available for either)

The Quality Assurance Department needs someone familiar with
the methods of Non Destructive Examination, including Ultrasonic,
Magnetic Particle and Liquid Penetrant. Prefer SNT-TC-1A certified.
Competent in the operation and calibration of inspection gauging
and tooling, including micrometers, venires, bore gauges and
similar equipment. Diversified duties and expectations within
inspection function. Plan inspection process; prioritize workflow
and self-actions. Interpret general and specific instructions
as received from Sales Department, Shop and QA Supervision
and translate into inspection and document activities. Verify
all operations specified on the shop order have been completed
and signed. Set up, calibrate and operate various non-destructive
testing instruments to verify steel integrity and grade. Prepare
drawing of non-conforming material indicating location of
non-conformance. Prepare request for deviation, distribute
to sales and non-complying departments.
