the availability of extensive custom spindle and shaft forging
capabilities to meet demanding requirements in hydro, power
generation, power transmission, oil and gas, mining, construction,
ship building, and other rigorous applications. Scot Forge
is unique in its ability to combine high-strength forging
with unmatched flexibility, producing shafts or spindles
with any combination of round, square, flat, or polygonal
dimensions, concentric or eccentric configurations, and
tapers or custom shapes.
Types of shafts can include pinion, roll, stub, step, coupling,
fan, rotor, generator, turbine, and ABS ship shafts. Customers
can order a single piece or high volume quantities in part
weights from 5 lbs. to 80,000 lbs. Short lead times are typical
and breakdown deliveries are also available.
Scot Forge can produce spindles from an extensive inventory
of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. From vacuum degassed
airmelt to ESR or VAR cleanliness levels, parts are supplied
using the highest quality material available. Secondary
processes available from Scot Forge include sawing, heat
treating, turning, milling, boring, and testing.
