Scot Forge Provides Designed Alloy Forged Solutions for Tough Field Requirements Through its Specialty Alloy Services
Scot Forge, a leader in open die and rolled
ring forging, promotes its Specialty Alloy Services, created
to provide high performance forged parts requiring such
properties as exceptionally high strength, corrosion resistance,
and high conductivity. The Specialty Alloys team develops
specialty material and processing solutions for open die
and rolled ring forgings that will operate under harsh or
heavy duty conditions, such as seawater applications, chemical
processing, and heavy industrial environments.
Scot Forge's Specialty
Alloy Services offers a wide variety of high performance
alloys that can be forged into sizes and shapes not available
from other forging shops. Super austenitic and super duplex
stainlesses (including Ferralium® alloys, Hiduron®
191 and 254 SMO®), copper and nickel base alloys, titanium,
and aluminum are available. These specialty alloys offer
such advantages as high strength, high resistance to pitting
and corrosion, superior impact toughness, high resistance
to chloride stress corrosion and biofouling, heat resistance,
and high conductivity.
Working with the team's expert metallurgists
and sales engineers, customers can maximize the performance
of their critical parts while realizing production cost
efficiencies that are unattainable by other methods. To
minimize costs while offering higher performance parts,
the Specialty Alloy Services Team recommends a variety of
cost-reduction strategies from component reduction to near-net
shape forging.
