Scot Forge Offers Infinite Variety of Single and Double Hub Forgings
Scot Forge provides "one call"
forging solutions, producing an infinite variety of single
and double hubs from 5 lbs. to 80,000 lbs. The company
produces tooled forgings in multi diameter hub shapes
using the open die process and can supply a single piece
or high quantities in either ferrous or nonferrous materials.
Scot Forge's Franklin Park Hammer Shop in Illinois is the largest
and most modern hammer shop in the country and specializes
in hubs up to 30" O.D. and 2,000 lbs. The Franklin
Park Hammer Shop offers a guaranteed one or two-week delivery
program on parts that are forged from certain common grades,
with in-house tooling. The one week guarantee applies
to forged and shipped parts, while the two week guarantee
applies to forged and heat treated (one process) parts.
With thousands of tools in stock,
Scot Forge can produce simple to complex hub forgings
to near net shape, as well as custom forgings approaching
closed die configurations. Extensive in-house tooling
capabilities also enable quick production of prototype
parts.
To make these parts, Scot upsets
material in one or more tools to achieve the desired shape.
As the material fills the tool or tools, grain flow is
produced, giving strength, ductility, and resistance to
impact and fatigue. This method not only yields higher
quality parts, but is often more cost-effective than other
metalworking processes such as machined bar and plate,
or fabrication.
