Aluminum Open Die and Rolled Rings Forging Demands
>
Scot Forge's Specialty Alloy Services team now offers custom
open die and rolled ring aluminum forgings in a variety
of weights and sizes—from 5 lbs. to 20,000 lbs. and
ring sizes up to 240" O.D.—with large sizes
a specialty. Scot Forge's metallurgists partner with customers
to develop forgings with characteristics such as high
strength, corrosion resistance, and high conductivity.
Scot Forge maintains an extensive inventory of aluminum
grades, and can meet the demand for aluminum forgings
in a variety of shapes, including ring, hub, hollow, spindle,
bar, blank, and other unusual shapes never thought possible.
Scot Forge can produce high quality aluminum forgings
that meet specific application requirements and provide
maximum part performance—in single piece or high
volume quantities.
Plus, secondary processes are offered that can be performed
in-house, including heat treating (MIL-H-6088, SAE-AMS-H-6088,
ASTM B918), machining, and sawing. Destructive tests include
corrosion sensitivity/stress corrosion cracking, electrical
conductivity, fracture toughness, and ballistic testing.
Non-destructive tests include ultrasonic and dye penetrant.
Scot Forge provides aluminum forging solutions to numerous
industries, including aerospace (structural components),
food and chemical processing, defense/military, marine,
power generation, construction, fabrication, and semiconductor.
